Jared Hughes of Jared Hughes Design in our next Designer Spotlight, and we couldn’t be more excited to share his work. Hailing from Atlanta, GA, Jared is a rising star in the design world with accolades including House Beautiful’s Next Wave Designer and Traditional Home’s New Trad Designer already under his belt. Jared’s designs are full of colour, history, and charm. His passion for antiques shows through clearly, and we are delighted to look at his interiors today.
For this interior, elaborately painted wallpaper in the chinoiserie style provides a great backdrop for a George II style Irish mahogany console table with its bold ball and claw feet and acanthus scrolled cabriole legs.
In this space, Jared introduces a George III Sheraton style serpentine sideboard with its classic oval brass handles. The wing chair in front of the sideboard is upholstered in a bright floral pattern that recalls verdure tapestries to bring out the green painted bookshelves.
We have always loved incorporating blue & white Asian porcelain in our collection, and Jared shows a perfect way to display a larger collection. This George III Sheraton style mahogany cabinet on chest with fretwork panels looks wonderful filled with the plates, chargers, and other porcelain pieces.
Speaking of blue and white porcelain… Jared once again shows how a large collection looks fantastic when displayed together. Along with the ebonised commode with gilt handles, elegant giltwood mirror, and four poster bed, the room comes together beautifully.
Have a look at Jared’s Instagram account for inspiration. Thanks for letting us feature your work, Jared, we are looking forward to your next projects!
